What is a wetroom and do I want one?
A wetroom is a bathroom where the entire floor is waterproofed and sloped to a drain, so there is no curb to step over and no glass enclosure required. It is the most accessible layout and the most demanding to build correctly. If you want a curbless shower that will not leak, this is how it is done.
Why does waterproofing matter more at the beach?
Because ambient humidity is higher and things dry more slowly. Any moisture that gets past the tile has less chance of drying out on its own before it causes damage.
