Over a million square feet installed

Over a million square feet installed and more than 150 projects last year. What follows is a sample, 205 photographs taken on site as the work happened, including the subfloors, the waterproofing, and the failures we found and fixed before anything went back down.

We photograph a sample of our work as we go, not every job. What follows spans 8 areas and every trade we run, and the largest single install in the set was 5,000 sq ft.

Case studies

Six recent projects

The largest, the most technical, and the ones where we found problems under the old floor.

01 / Jacksonville

The largest single-home install in the portfolio

The job

Five thousand square feet of continuous floor. At that size small layout errors add up. A line a quarter inch out at the front door is clearly off by the back of the house.

What we did

The substrate was flattened across the whole footprint before a single plank came off the pallet, and layout lines were snapped to the building rather than to any one wall.

  • 5,000 sq ft, continuous plank across every room
  • Existing floor removed and hauled off throughout
  • 17 photographs taken as the work progressed

02 / Neptune Beach

A bathroom taken to the studs and rebuilt as a wetroom

The job

A wetroom has no curb and no glass enclosure, so the whole floor has to be sloped and sealed. If the waterproofing is wrong, the leak happens inside the wall and is not found until there is damage.

What we did

The pan was built and sloped first, then the waterproof membrane was run as one continuous system across pan, curb, and walls, with every corner and penetration detailed before any tile was set.

  • Demoed back to framing, then rebuilt
  • Waterproofing run as a single continuous assembly
  • 15 photographs, most of work now permanently hidden

Bad subfloor found, replaced, then hardwood installed and finished

The job

The customer wanted hardwood. The 3,500 square feet of decking underneath had already failed. New wood over bad structure would have dipped and squeaked within a couple of years.

What we did

The failing subfloor came out first. New decking went down, the substrate was brought flat, and only then was the hardwood installed, sanded through progressive grits, and finished on site.

  • 3,500 sq ft, subfloor replaced before install
  • Sanded and finished in place, not prefinished
  • Demo, structure, install, and finish all in our scope

04 / St. Augustine

The job that turned out to be a structural repair

The job

This started as a flooring quote in an older St. Augustine home. Once the old floor came up, the decking underneath was gone. Covering it would have been quicker and cheaper.

What we did

The failed sections were cut out back to sound framing and replaced, the deck was refastened flat, and waterproof luxury vinyl went over a floor that was finally solid.

  • Failed subfloor cut out and replaced
  • Waterproof plank installed over the repair
  • 8 photographs including the decking underneath

05 / Fernandina Beach

Four trades, one house, one contract

The job

Kitchen backsplash, a faux beam, a tongue-and-groove entry ceiling, and crown moulding throughout. That is normally a tile setter plus a trim carpenter, which means two schedules and a gap in between.

What we did

All of it was ours to deliver in one continuous run of work, so the homeowner was not coordinating separate contractors or waiting on a second trade to come back and close things out.

  • Herringbone backsplash, faux beam, T&G ceiling, crown
  • The widest mix of trades in the portfolio
  • 22 photographs, the largest gallery on the site

Large format porcelain and slate treads cut step by step

The job

A 24x48 porcelain panel needs a very flat slab. Any dip shows up as lippage at the seams, and once it is set and grouted the only fix is breaking it out.

What we did

The slab was checked and corrected for flatness first, panels were set with a leveling system to hold adjacent tiles in plane while the mortar cured, and slate treads were cut to fit each individual riser.

  • 24x48 Italian porcelain, leveling system throughout
  • Slate stair treads cut one step at a time
  • 18 photographs from prep through grout

  • My experience with Quality Craftsmanship Floor & Tile Co. was wonderful from start to finish. I couldn't be happier with how my floors turned out. They look amazing! I'm so glad that I found them! Marc was great to work with! He was friendly and fast to reply, great pricing and communication, scheduled my job quickly in my tight window, and checked in frequently to make sure I was happy. Joe was fantastic and a hard worker! He did quick and efficient work with my difficult to install flooring. He was courteous, organized, and cleaned up after he was done each day. A great team all around! Thank you!!!

  • They did a really great job with my floors. I called multiple companies. They had really reasonable rates. They made sure that I was 100% satisfied with the project and they worked super hard to make everything look nice. Highly recommend this company.

  • So I recently decided to build a Barbershop in my backyard, and I got everything done except the floors and trim. I decided on some LVP for the floor and pine painted black for trim. I started doing some research and came across Quality Craftsmanship Floor & Tile Co. and I honest to God cannot be more happy. I talked to the gentleman on the phone and boy oh boy am I glad I did!!!!! Not only was he extremely professional, but also very nice and clearly knew what he was doing. I figured since flooring people usually install baseboard they could do trim too and man was i impressed! Marc brought my vision to life and so much more. Absolutely without a doubt highly recommended and I would give him 10 stars if I could. Pictures don't lie!

What is true of every job

How we work

Four things that are true on every job.

Measured, not estimated

Bosch laser tools and our own takeoff software. The number in the quote is the number you pay.

The subfloor gets fixed

Soft spots and failed decking are cut out and replaced, never covered. Five of the jobs on this page were structural repairs first.

One contractor, start to finish

Tear-out, subfloor, install, and trim are all our scope. You are not coordinating three companies.

Not done until you say so

Our word is our bond. The job is not complete until you are 100 percent satisfied.
