Luxury vinyl plank is the floor most Jacksonville homeowners land on, and for good reason. It is waterproof, it handles humidity, it takes dogs and kids and sand tracked in from the beach, and it looks like wood without behaving like wood in a Florida summer.
The catch is that LVP hides nothing. It is a thin, floating surface. Every dip, hump, and soft spot in the subfloor underneath will telegraph through it within a year. Most callback complaints about vinyl plank are not plank problems. They are prep problems.
So we prep first. We measure the floor flat with laser tools, we fix what is out of tolerance, and only then does a plank come off the pallet. That is the whole difference between a floor that lasts twenty years and one that starts clicking in eighteen months.

Click-lock floating plank
The common choice for whole-home installs. Floats over the subfloor, handles seasonal movement, and can be worked on in sections later.
Glue-down vinyl plank and tile
Better for commercial traffic, rolling loads, and large open spans. Firmer underfoot and more stable in wide-open floor plans.
Rigid core and SPC
A denser core that bridges minor substrate imperfections and resists denting under heavy furniture.

How much does luxury vinyl plank installation cost in Jacksonville?
It depends on the material you choose, the square footage, and what we find under the old floor. A straight tear-out and install over a sound slab is the low end. Subfloor repair, stairs, and complex layouts add to it. We measure with laser tools and give you a firm number in writing, not a range that moves later.
Is luxury vinyl plank actually waterproof?
The plank itself is. That means a spill, a pet accident, or a dishwasher leak will not swell the material the way laminate or hardwood would. Water can still get through the seams and sit on the subfloor if a leak goes unnoticed for long enough, so waterproof is not the same as flood-proof.
Can you install LVP over my existing tile?
Sometimes. If the tile is well bonded, flat, and the added height does not create a problem at doors and appliances, going over it is a legitimate option that saves demo cost. If the tile is hollow, cracked, or uneven, covering it just moves the problem up a layer. We check before we recommend it.
How long does a whole-home LVP install take?
Most homes run two to four days. A straightforward thousand square feet can be done in a day or two. Larger jobs, subfloor repair, and stairs extend it. We give you the schedule up front and tell you if it changes.
Do I have to move my furniture?
Talk to us when we quote. We can handle furniture moving as part of the job, but it needs to be in the scope and the price so nobody is surprised on day one.
