Trim & Millwork / Duval County
Trim & Millwork in Jacksonville, FL
A new floor with the old paint-caked baseboard still on the wall looks unfinished. We run the trim alongside the flooring, so you are not waiting on a separate carpenter to come back and close the job out.

What trim & millwork involves here
- Baseboard, quarter round, and shoe as a separate scope
- Crown moulding cut and coped to fit
- Stair trim, risers, and skirt board
A new floor with the old, paint-caked baseboard still on the wall looks unfinished, and everyone can tell even if they cannot say why. Trim is what closes the gap between the floor and the room.
Trim is quoted as its own scope rather than bundled into a floor price, so you can see what it costs and decide. Having us do it alongside the flooring means one contract and one schedule, with no waiting on a separate trim contractor to come back and close things out. We run baseboard, quarter round, crown moulding, tongue-and-groove ceilings, faux beams, stair trim, and casing.
Local conditions we plan for in Jacksonville
- Slab-on-grade in the newer suburbs
- Most construction south and west of downtown sits on concrete. Slabs push moisture upward and are rarely as flat as they need to be for large format tile or floating plank. We test both before we recommend a product.
- Pier and beam in the historic core
- Riverside, Avondale, San Marco, and Springfield were built on crawl spaces. Decades of Florida humidity under a house are hard on decking, so subfloor repair is a normal part of these jobs rather than a surprise.
- Humidity, year round
- Wood moves here more than it does almost anywhere else. Material gets acclimated to the house before install and expansion gaps get left at every wall, or the floor tells on you within a season.

FAQ
Trim & Millwork in Jacksonville: questions
Not covered here? Call (904) 592-0777 and ask.
Do I need new baseboard when I get new flooring?
Not always, but often it is worth it. Removing old base without damaging it is difficult, and the old profile frequently does not sit right against a new floor height. If your existing base is in good shape and the heights work, we can reuse it and add quarter round instead.
Do you paint the trim you install?
We install it caulked, filled, and sanded so it is ready for paint. Painting is usually handled by the homeowner or their painter, but ask us when we quote and we will tell you what we can include.
What areas of Jacksonville do you cover?
All of Duval County, plus St. Johns, Clay, and Nassau. That includes Riverside, Avondale, San Marco, Mandarin, the Southside, Arlington, the Westside, and the Beaches. If you are unsure whether you are in range, call and ask.
